Acne

If you've got acne, you're not alone. Almost everyone suffers through it, especially during the teen years. All of the hormones that a developing body produces are usually the biggest causes of acne for most adolescents.

Most people will have dealt with acne at some point in their lives. For most of us, acne is a really annoying part of the awkward and painful years of our adolescence, and it is during this time that one of the main causes of acne starts to take effect.

While most people first experience acne as teens, there are a lot of different causes of acne. Smokers, for example, are especially susceptible to acne, so if you're holding a cancer stick right now, throw it away! You're ruining your skin. Another one of the many causes of acne is exclusive to women: the dreaded PMS acne, which often breaks out when hormonal imbalances during a woman's menstrual cycle affects her body.

Luckily, treating acne can be pretty easy. Sometimes, all it takes is some good hygiene. Not touching your face so that the dirt on your hands doesn't get transferred to the skin of your face is one good suggestion. Another suggestion is to wash your face regularly.

Doing this can get rid of the excess oil and dirt that could be clogging up your pores. Clogged pores can lead to pimples and all the other nasty blemishes that make up the acne symptom repertoire.

Other times, you might need creams or ointments to help clear up your skin. One of the most common active ingredients in these topically-applied acne treatments is benzoyl peroxide. Apply a lot of ointment with this ingredient on your face, and watch your skin clear up. It can dry your skin out, so don't forget to moisturize after applying it! There are a lot of different brands of acne creams with this kind of ingredient, and it can be pretty easy to pick out a product that really works for you.

Most of the time, a topical ointment or cream will do the trick, and they're pretty easy to find. There are also special soaps for treating acne. They're easily available too. Just check out your local drug store. There's bound to be an acne treatment product that will do the trick. Most of the time, acne treatment products are really affordable, too.

For most people treating acne is as simple as checking out your local drugstore's skin care aisle and getting any one of those affordable and easily available acne creams.
