An Easy Diet That Gets Results!
Like millions of people worldwide today, you may be overweight and searching for a diet that works. Your probably asking yourself, "How can I lose weight and keep it off?"
If your like most people, you'd also like to lose your extra pounds without spending an arm and a leg. You may also be embarrassed by your current weight and so are looking for something you can do privately.
The answer is quite simple. A bit of willpower and a small lifestyle change will give you the results your looking for.
To begin, figure out how many calories you generally take in during a week. This is fairly easy, just look at an average day. For example:
A standard eating day:
Breakfast: Flavored coffee from Dunkin Donuts with cream and sugar (medium size: about 330 calories). Blueberry muffin (also from Dunkin's: 510 calories).
Lunch: A tuna salad sandwich with lettuce (about 680 calories). Single serving bag of Lays Classic Potato Chips (150 calories). A medium sized pickle (10 calories). Can of Coke (150 calories).
Snack: Bag of plain M&M's (single serving size: 240 calories).
Dinner: Serving of Stouffer's Lasagna (350 calories). Two 2 1/2" slices of Pepperidge Farm garlic bread (340 calories). 8 oz glass of soda (about 100 calories).
Snack at Night: Candy bar (Snickers, King size: 440 calories).
On the surface, this diet doesn't seem excessive, but do the math and you'll be surprised - 3,300 calories for one day! Now multiply that by the seven days in the week and you looking at a caloric intake of 23,100!
It's a widely known fact, that 3,500 calories equals roughly 1 pound of fat. This means if you were to eat 3,500 calories more than you need, you would gain a pound of fat. It also means that if you eat 3,500 calories less than you need, you will lose a pound.
So let's look at the diet above again and see what we can do. You will find that you can cut 3,500 calories a week by making just three minor alterations or substitutions to the meals laid out.
1) Substitute water for Coca Cola at lunch.
2. Skip the afternoon M&Ms.
3 - Instead of two slices of garlic bread with dinner, have just one.
That's it! These 3 little changes will cut 560 calories from your daily intake. Over seven days, you'll consume 3,920 calories less which is actually more than the 3,500 need to lose a pound. You should now be able to lose an average of 1 pound per week! Do this for a year and you could lose 52 pounds - WITHOUT exercise!
Of course, the example here is just that - an example. Your own diet will vary and will be different each day. But the principle will be the same. Give it a try and watch the pounds fall off. This will be all the inspiration you'll need to continue on your weight loss path. Remember, small changes can make a big difference!
