An Easy Diet That Gets Results!

Like millions of people worldwide today, you may be overweight and searching for a diet that works. Your probably asking yourself, "How can I lose weight and keep it off?"

If your like most people, you'd also like to lose your extra pounds without spending an arm and a leg. You may also be embarrassed by your current weight and so are looking for something you can do privately.

The answer is quite simple. A bit of willpower and a small lifestyle change will give you the results your looking for.

To begin, figure out how many calories you generally take in during a week. This is fairly easy, just look at an average day. For example:

An average days diet:

Breakfast: Dunkin Donuts medium flavored coffee, 2 creamers/2 sugars (approx. 330 calories) and a blueberry muffin (510 calories).

Lunch: Tuna fish sandwich with lettuce added (roughly 680 calories) with a bag of single serving Lays chips (150 calories) and a pickle (10 calories). To drink: 12 oz can of Coca-Cola (150 calories).

Afternoon snack: Single serving package of plain M&Ms (240 calories).

Dinner: Serving of Stouffer's Lasagna (350 calories). Two 2 1/2" slices of Pepperidge Farm garlic bread (340 calories). 8 oz glass of soda (about 100 calories).

Evening snack: King size Snickers candy bar (440 calories).

You would probably agree that this does not seem like an excessive diet, but if you add up all the calories, you come out to 3,300 for the day. If you then multiply that by 7 you come out with 23,100 calories for the week!

It's a widely known fact, that 3,500 calories equals roughly 1 pound of fat. This means if you were to eat 3,500 calories more than you need, you would gain a pound of fat. It also means that if you eat 3,500 calories less than you need, you will lose a pound.

So for a very simple diet that really works, do this: Figure your weekly calorie intake, just as we have here. Then simply deduct 3,500 calories from your week of eating. In our example, this can be achieved by eliminating or substituting only 3 items in our daily diet.

1) Substitute water for Coca Cola at lunch.

2. Skip the afternoon M&Ms.

3) Have 1 slice of garlic bread instead of two at dinner.

By making these three small changes, you will eliminate 560 calories from your daily diet. Multiplied by 7 days, that's 3,920 calories that you won't be eating - more than enough to lose an average of 1 pound per week! Over the course of a year, that's 52 pounds! And that is WITHOUT exercise!

The diet shown here is just an example. Your daily diet will vary, but you can see how by just making a few changes, you can see fantastic results. Try applying this principle to your eating habits and the pounds will start to come off. This will give you the drive to continue with your new, healthier lifestyle. Don't forget, small changes can make a big difference!
