An Easy Diet That Gets Results!
Like millions of people worldwide today, you may be overweight and searching for a diet that works. Your probably asking yourself, "How can I lose weight and keep it off?"
If you are asking yourself this question, you probably want a an answer that isn't going to break the bank. There are many expensive diet plans on the market today, but do you really need them?
So what do you do? Well with a bit of willpower, you can make a simple lifestyle change that will make the difference.
The first step is to figure out how many calories you consume on a weekly basis. This may take a little effort. You need to look at a typical day. Let's use an example here.
An average days diet:
Breakfast: Dunkin Donuts medium flavored coffee, 2 creamers/2 sugars (approx. 330 calories) and a blueberry muffin (510 calories).
Lunch: A tuna salad sandwich with lettuce (about 680 calories). Single serving bag of Lays Classic Potato Chips (150 calories). A medium sized pickle (10 calories). Can of Coke (150 calories).
Mid-afternoon snack: M&Ms (single serving pack - 240 calories).
Dinner: Serving of Stouffer's Lasagna (350 calories). Two 2 1/2" slices of Pepperidge Farm garlic bread (340 calories). 8 oz glass of soda (about 100 calories).
Evening snack: King size Snickers candy bar (440 calories).
On the surface, this diet doesn't seem excessive, but do the math and you'll be surprised - 3,300 calories for one day! Now multiply that by the seven days in the week and you looking at a caloric intake of 23,100!
It only takes 3,500 calories to equal a pound of fat. Eat 3,500 more than you need and you'll gain a pound. Cut 3,500 from the total you eat and you'll lose a pound.
So for a very simple diet that really works, do this: Figure your weekly calorie intake, just as we have here. Then simply deduct 3,500 calories from your week of eating. In our example, this can be achieved by eliminating or substituting only 3 items in our daily diet.
1. Instead of a Coca-Cola with lunch, drink water.
2) Eliminate the afternoon snack of M&Ms.
3. Opt for only one slice of garlic bread with dinner.
That's it! These 3 little changes will cut 560 calories from your daily intake. Over seven days, you'll consume 3,920 calories less which is actually more than the 3,500 need to lose a pound. You should now be able to lose an average of 1 pound per week! Do this for a year and you could lose 52 pounds - WITHOUT exercise!
Of course, the example here is just that - an example. Your own diet will vary and will be different each day. But the principle will be the same. Give it a try and watch the pounds fall off. This will be all the inspiration you'll need to continue on your weight loss path. Remember, small changes can make a big difference!
