I was faced with the same problem. After years of being very active in many sports, like running, Baseball, Motocross, and Golf. I was involved in a motorcycle accident that injured both my left knee and lower back. After the accident, I was unable to participate in the active life I had become accustom to in the past. Yes, I got FAT! Gaining 50lbs in less than a year. My wife and kids were worried about my health and rightfully so. I started my fitness routine many times over the next year, only to quite after a week or so do to the pain. So I joined a health club to take advantage of the low impact activities such as swimming and weight lifting. After about a month of driving out of my way to stand in lines for the fitness equipment I wanted to use and getting home way passed dinner time, I called it quits.

Determined to get back in shape. I started my own workout routine at home, around my families schedule. Push ups and sit ups mostly. Long walks when my wife and I could fit it in. I was starting to make some progress. I had lost about 10lbs or so, then winter hit. It got to be too cold and too much snow on the ground to get out and get the proper aerobic workout to meet my fitness goals.

After a short brain storm, my wife and I decided we needed a home treadmill or something to that effect. Assuming the caliber of home fitness equipment I needed. Buying used was my first thought. I quickly ruled out a treadmill for two reasons one, I know myself all to well. With a treadmill I would get board of just walking on it. I would want to start running, and my knee just couldn't take the pounding. Second, we didn't have the room for a traditional treadmill. Then I found a Nortic track in the Sunday paper. I called the man right away and he agreed to let me come over to take a look. The nice guy that he was, he suggested I try it before I bought it. Well after about 5 minutes and nearly falling down once. I decided against the Nortic track.

I had nearly given up on the idea of having a solution to my fitness needs when one day as my wife I passed a new health club on the way to the mall. Just inside the big picture windows were these machines I hadn't seen before. They were elliptical machines. I could tell just by looking at them. I could do that. The first thing that came to mind was, "I bet those are too expensive." And that was my interdiction to elliptical trainers.

After doing a great deal of research i had found that elliptical trainers come in many different shapes and sizes. As well as many price ranges. Many of the home versions of the elliptical trainer were just cheaply made with limiting options. The so call club class models were too expensive and way too big for the space I had to work with. Then I found the Lifecore line of fitness equipment. They have put a great deal of thought and engineering into there products. I finely decided on the Lifecore LC-985VG Elliptical Trainer because of its versatility, size and options fit me perfectly.
