Every year many people are diagnosed with the most common type of diabetes, type 2 diabetes. At first many may feel hopeless after being diagnosed but there is hope. There are many ways to improve diabetes and the best is by follwing a healthy diet.

To start it is important to cut back on foods with high sugar even though for many this can be very tough. Aside from sugary products, there are many other important factors. Type 2 diabetics must also work to lose weight as well.

Did you know that around 90 percent of those with type 2 diabetes are overweight. It is important to eat less carbs and calories to lose weight and eat more healthy fats to control your glucose and lose weight. By following these steps you will easily start to lose weight.

Again, a big part losing weight for those with Type 2 diabetes is to cut back on sugar. It is particularly important to make sure that their sugar level does not rise rapidly, and then decrease rapidly. It is also suggested that you eat 6 small meals through the day instead of three big meals. If you also want to see how you are doing for the first part of your diet, try keeping a journal. Record in your food diary what you eat and about how many calories each food had.

Also, keep track of all your exercise activities, and be sure to note down how long you exercised for. Doing this will help you to see where you need to improve and to keep yourself motivated in order to reach your goal. Following a diet is not easy but motivating yourself with these tips can help you be successful.
