The symptom "indigestion" is not usually accurate enough for a full diagnosis, which is also referred as Improper Digestion or Poor Digestion. Experts use the phrase indigestion to mean various abdominal symptoms such as gas, wind, diarrhea, heartburn, reflux, nausea, abdominal pain, abdominal discomfort, abdominal swelling, or other digestive symptoms. The causes of these symptoms may be excess of food taken or irregular consumption of food. No food can also be a result of these symptoms.
Dyspepsia in Greek and indigestion in Italian language are synonyms of indigestion which means poor, hard, improper or difficult digestion. This may also be followed by vomiting or a vomit sensation, nausea, reflux, abdominal bloating and belching.

In some cases if the symptoms indicated complexities it is advised to take proper diagnosis which can be a gastrointestinal endoscopy which is helpful to rule out diseases like medication related ulceration, ulcer or other rare cases. Proper diagnosis is always helpful to cure diseases at early stage rather then building it to become more complex.
Traditional methods of curing these symptoms as discussed above are certain traditional therapies been carried on viz. changing lifestyle which includes a proper diet and a effective plan with a scheduled time to intake food and other food products including drinks, antacids which include both pills and syrups, H2-receptor antagonists (H2-RAs), prokinetic agents, and antiflatulents. Still it is been proved that these methodologies are not effective in a long run.
However there are certain estimated populations of people who are managing Indigestion at any given time. This may be because of a short-lived disease like flu that can have a high annual incidence but low prevalence, but a life-long disease like diabetes has a low annual incidence but high prevalence.
However indigestion can be cured or prevented by proper intake of food at regular intervals and avoiding food or other products which are usually not healthy and can damage the proper functioning of a digestive system.
