Here’s How You Deal with Fast Food
Is there ANY fast food that's really good for you? I actually never recommend that you eat ANY fast food, BUT sometimes we forget to plan ahead and find ourselves in a bad situation. Do you just not eat or do we order the fast food?
Never go without eating. It's actually much worse to skip a meal than to make a good choice at a fast food restaurant. Simply make a good choice, and you'll be okay.
You should always plan ahead. Take the time to think about the next day. Will you be away from home for extended periods of time? If so, prepare some quick and easy meals that you can eat while away from home. Eat a full meal once every 3 hours. Plan accordingly.
When I spend the day away from home, I might take a few plastic shaker bottles with me. I fill them with protein and ground oats (simply stick some quaker oats in a coffee grinder). I then fill a few baggies with walnuts, almonds, and/or peanuts.
You've got to add some veggies too! I like to cut up broccoli, cauliflower, all types of peppers, carrots, and cucumbers. I put them in a large baggie and they're ready to go. Combine them with the whey protein, oats, and walnuts and you have some perfect meals for building muscle and burning fat.
If, for some reason, you didn't plan ahead, you've got to make good choices when you find yourself ordering food at a fast food restaurant. What would you order if you were standing in a McDonald's right now? You wouldn't order french fries, a milk shake, an apple pie, a hamburger, or a fried chicken sandwich. So what would you order?
A better choice would be a chicken salad with about a half pack of ranch dressing. Eat all the veggies in the salad. Don't take them off or order the salad without them. And always order a water. Never order a Coke or anything else. Drink water!
If you know you're going to be eating fast food or eating out at any restaurant, go online and look at their nutrition facts for each meal. Make sure it fits within your daily plan for calories, protein, carbs, and fat. If not, choose something that does.
I personally went several years without eating ANY fast food at all, and I can tell you that I felt much better and lost lots and lots of body fat during that time. Now, just the thought of fast food makes me sick. Once you're accustomed to eating healthy, the grease simply makes you sick. Eating healthy tastes great and feels great.
When you eat healthy foods, you WILL have higher energy levels for lifting weights. You'll create the OPTIMAL muscle building and fat burning environment. Your metabolism will be higher than ever. And your body will reward you with higher levels of muscle mass and lower levels of body fat.
I wanted to mention Subway because most people believe it's healthy. I'm sorry, but Jared isn't much healthier than he used to be. Sure, he lost a lot of body weight but he lost lots of muscle in the process. You can already see that he's easily gaining fat back and soon he may be in worse shape than before. Stick to the grilled chicken salad loaded with veggies at Subway. Stay away from most of the other stuff.
It's much easier and cheaper to prepare some quick meals at home. You can prepare most meals in much less time than it takes you to go through a drive through line or wait in a line inside a restaurant. With some planning, you can stop eating unhealthy foods, start eating healthy, and building more muscle and burning more fat.
