Interesting Ways to Work-Out Using a Pedometer Watch

There are lots of different work-out routines out there today but really I haven't been able to find anything better than just simply running. All you need are some good running shoes and enough ground and light to cover in a few hours and you're on your way to a decent work out. Once you get over the shin splints and the leg cramps you'll find that cardio is the only true way to lose weight and get healthy.

There are a few things that can help you to stay focused and motivated in your work out routine and one of them happens to be the pedometer watch. A pedometer watch turns your running routine into a hard mathematical calculation. It shows you exactly how many steps you took during the course of the day and you can use those numbers to track your progress over time.

Stay away from focusing on your body weight if you're just starting to work out. The biggest mistake I find people doing is they will start a work out routine and then right after day one jump on the scale and get frustrated. Come on guys, you aren't going to lose weight in only a few days. It takes a sustained effort. You have to stay motivated for the long haul if you want to see any progress. Instead of watching your weight just watch your step counts. They will give you a number to look forward to that will constantly be on the rise.

Too many people see exercise as a chore. I see it as a game I play with myself and with others. You can really get motivated to work out if you trick your mind into thinking that it is a really fun and interesting thing to do. Think of your step count as if they were little points you get for scoring a goal. The more points you earn the better the rewards. Keep tracking your step count and you will accumulate points and level up to get some nice stuff. My level 10 reward is a bowl of ice cream.

Get your friends involved too because lord knows they need to lose some weight. Buy a pedometer watch for your friend for his birthday and then get him to come running with you. If he's faster than you that's even better because the competition will spur you on. Every week compare your stats against each other and see who is on top for that week and then try to beat each other. Sooner or later you'll realize that while you were focusing on beating your friend you were actually getting into pretty good shape.

A pedometer watch allows you to keep track of your progress over time. Record the amount of steps and the distance you travel every day in a log book or in an excel spreadsheet. I like to track my steps every day and then weigh myself on the scale once a month. I track all of that information and keep it in my log book and I get to see how I am progressing towards my goals.

Working out is a necessary evil but it doesn't have to be all that hard. It can be fun if you just get creative and use a pedometer watch. Wear the pedometer watch as you work out and you can track your progress and see your results. You'll feel better and lose weight with a sustained and motivated effort.
