The Performing Art Form Of Dance
No matter where in the world you go, everywhere is dance considered to be an art form. Not only that, but it holds one of the top positions when it comes to sophisticated and technical ways to express emotions.
Dancing can involve just a rhythmic moving of a body to music or it can be a way to express deep emotions without having to use words. People who can understand how to make emotions be felt will also have no troubles expressing themselves through dance.
From a social dance in which human beings gathered together and expressed their emotions and sorrow, joy, ecstasy or just Thanksgiving, thousands of years ago, dance forms have taken the form of trends, which might be classical or might evolve into something, which shows the social, traditional, cultural, and moral ethos of the period.
There was a time when the waltz was supposed to be "fast" because the man had his arm around the waist of the women. Nowadays, one can watch a courtship game going on before one's eyes in the shape of an erotic tango, and not raise an eyebrow.
There are two accepted general forms of dance. It is said that each dance form belongs to one of two different types of schools. The dance types that have remained the same, more commonly referred to as traditional dancing, includes dances like the waltz. However, it is hard to imagine hip hop dancing to this old classical type! On the flip side of things, it is just as difficult to imagine dancing a waltz to jazz music. Nevertheless, some people still believe that the two forms of dance can be combined to create inspirational and unique performances.
"If music be the food of love play on," said Orsino, and he was willing to dance to the tune of love's song. The idea that music and dance are intertwined together, to be almost one shows that one cannot exist without the other. Nevertheless, there are performances, where you are going to see only musical melodies being played, but they are going to be feet tapping somewhere, in rhythm to Beethoven or Mozart's melodious works. In the same manner tap dancing, does not necessarily need music, but it is rhythmic enough to make one think that the dancer is hearing some musical tune playing in his head somewhere.
With new kinds of music coming out, it is only natural that new dance forms will develop. There are no limits on dance forms and that also means that a style is not just restricted to one era or that an old dance form can not reappear in a new style.
Fortunately, the art form of dance will be with us eternally. It has the power to make you want to get up off your feet and move to the music. You can do whatever moves suit you at the time. We could quite possibly be doing the same dancing that was done thousands of years earlier! In the end it does not matter if you can dance or not, just go with the flow of the music and you are dancing!
