Thinking Thin- Change Your Mindset
Thinking thin is a habit that you will have to learn to succeed in long term weight loss and maintenance. Thinking yourself thin is a practical and solid method for you to lose weight and more importantly keep it off.
You know that losing weight means watching what you eat and regular exercise. But the real reason that we all struggle with the pounds is our mindset.
You may see food as much more than just necessary for survival. We all associate it with feelings. We may associate food with emotions that are linked to feeling good or covering up old mental scars. These associations arent what thinking thin is all about.
Thinking yourself thin means feeling the way thin people do towards food. Slender people dont eat until theyre stuffed but eat only until theyve had enough. In this day and age we know that were not going to starve so take your time. We need 20 minutes for our mind to tell us Youre Full.
Most of us as children were told that if we cleaned our plate we were good and if we didnt we were wasteful or bad. If this is a hangup that you havent gotten rid of, the answer is simple. Take smaller helpings and you wont have leftovers on your plate. This will become a habit when you are truly thinking thin.
You are eating to survive and not to store fat in case you dont eat for a few days. This is what our ancestors did and things have changed. I doubt that prehistoric man had problems with obesity and too much fat stored in his belly.
Thinking yourself thin really means knowing when you have had enough. Thin people usually are very uncomfortable after a big holiday meal for instance. They find being gorged not a good thing.
Be mindful of your thoughts and words when it comes to food and eating. Thinking thin means you visualizing what you desire your body to be. Think of your goal as already having been achieved so that you can convince your subconscious that its real. Affirm that you are thin, change your mindset and you cant help but win the battle.
